Heard some chatter on the box yesterday of a 100+lb YFT caught at 60' on wire (around Montauk). Sounded like it was a surprise to the Capt. Any info on this?

We've tried it, just to see if it would work, and it does. But it doesn't seem to work any better than surface or just sub-surface running lures.
I was more interested in the particulars of this catch.
There were a ton of boats outside the point Sunday morning. We flew by them heading for the Horns. Then we get word that a YFT was caught within site of the light.

Aha! Now I understand. I hadn't heard about it. A similar thing happened with a BFT off Newport two tweeks ago, guy was trolling for stripers and up came charlie!
