I will be in the Newport area around July 20th and am looking for any advice or possibly fishing guides (kayak or light tackle) for that area. I do not know that area at all so any help would be appreciated.

I've only fished it earlier in the season and concentrate the corners of Second Beach and the jetty. There's also First Beach and the waters along Ocean Drive which are typical high boulder strewn waters of RI. I fly fish so prefer the two beaches mentioned. All three areas would be easy to launch a yak, there might be condition concerns regarding the waters of Ocean Drie but I"ve been there on days when it's very flat.

I'd highly recommend you google The Saltwater Edge. They have a fly shop in Newport but also are keen on Light Tackle. They also guide in boats and beach but I haven't used them. They've been in business up there since at least the early 90's so they must be doing something right.
