I can't decide witch fish finder to get. Furuno FCV667,FCV600L, OR FCV582L.
I was leaning toward the 582L but after talking with a couple of friends they recomended the 667 crt.I would like it to be able to show bottom fish like cod at 200 to 300 ft is the 667 powerfull enought for that? Also what transducer would you recomend for my boat? transom or thru hull.I cruze at 32 mph and 47mph top speed.I also have outboards.I would like to here any opinions on these units.Thanks.

Steve,
IMHO...based on my experience with these units, the 582L
hands down is my choice. It has the power to give you the resolution at the
depths you are fishing, and alot deeper than that. Dont waste your time and money, a thru hull transducer is the only way to maximize the abilitys of this machine. I have had properly installed transom mounts that loose bottom after 10 knots.

Thanks Makomagic for the reply. You like the LCD better than the CRT? I presently have a Raytheon V 760 amber CRT with a transom mount triducer.Iv'e had this unit for 10 yr I think It's time to move up to color.I have had good luck with the transom mount I just can't get used to the idea of putting a hole in the bottom on purpose.
