Remove cover and air intake cover.Let engine run with fresh water and earmufffs to clean out saltwater. With engine at high idle, disconnect fuel line and start spraying fogging oil into each carb intake until engine stalls.Shut water and let engine drain.I usually remove sparkplugs and shoot some oil in there also. Also, change the lower unit gear oil now-don,t wait until spring in case there is water in it.Spray powerhead with anti-corrosion spray.Keep engine vertical so all water drains out.Ready for spring start-up.
bobfish does what I do to my outboards. I also like to grease all the fittings expecially the stearing components. Water sometimes gets trapped in the stearing system. Also put some gasoline stabil in the gas tanks.
