i feel ur pain. everyday i go on scouting missions up here on the north shore looking for structure come spring while walking my dog. I dig my own worms and as soon as the snow run off stops I can probably dig some up for you.

I know

I know what you mean. The only thing I can suggest to you is a small project to keep you busy. Take your downloaded maps and charts, make a zip file out of them, then email them to me.

With the great weather we been experiencing just before the snow storm I actually picked up the phone and started to call the Boat yard to get her ready for the water
.
with my hands shaking I hung it up

Spring is four weeks away!
My 28th season. A little easier over the winter months, not much.
Every year I add a little more to my winter rituals, still doesn't quite get me to spring.

I'm enjoying sleeping right now!

Winter- Friend or Foe? I say embrace it!

This is why I stay in NY! You have the extremes of weather, cycles and bass revolve around 3/4's of it.
Why I need winter-
-When I officially close the door to the season I can get complete sleep without popping out of bed in a sweat to get in the surf. The bones take a welcomed rest.
-Winter makes the good times sooooo much richer.
-I feel I never have enough prep time and the winter takes the pressure off. It's the time of year that I get to take a big fishing sigh....Aaaaaaaahhhhhh. I get to do things without planning them around a tide, moon, etc.
-Can't tell you how many nights the thought of winter pushed me out the door to fish harder, longer, etc. even when I am exhausted. Like the reaper on my shoulder.
-One or 2 trips to the tropics for some warm species would not happen if bass were about 24 X 7, 365.
-The break in winter makes that first bent rod of the season so rewarding. One of the best feelings each year and is a special event to me.
Hang in there Mikey!

i have been fighing my cat w/ a bell on a 20$ ugly stick

Been doing the same thing with my trout rig. The hot lure lately has been the pink catnip mouse with the black polka dots. Need to make very accurate casts around structure, usually the edge of the sofa or under an end table (requires side-arm cast). Tied on a black fur-ball teaser the other night and had a double header on the third cast.

By the way, it's strictly a night bite as they tend to sleep during the day;)

Winter:rolleyes:

My ****er Spaniel gut hooked a plastic bloodworm last night (no hook). The only reason I found out is because he uhh... dropped it this morning. Thats the biggest to take one of my lures so far. A 35 pounder in February? Winter aint bad.
