I'm Joe, lower Westchester, 17' 2" yellow Sea Lion, fairly new to saltwater (brought up on Farmington River), not new to kayak, like Western L.I. Sound, Nassau North Shore, and eastern L.I.

Interested in any trips -- we all end up kayaking alone, but not exactly safe and not as much fun.

JonS most places but here I'm JonSS since you need 5 letters.

I'm in Rockaway NJ and I fish all over the region. I paddle several kayaks. Most often a Cobra Tourer (blue), but you'll also find me in a Cobra FnD, Nav, and Explorer. Just set up a WS Tarpon for fishing too. Kayakjoe will probably be playing with that one.
I'm JimW, Wes, BigWes, weasel and I forget which where a lot. Live in CT. I fish Maine to NY (adding NJ this year) started yak fishing last year from a 17ft cedar strip I built. I usually fly fish in the sweet, spin in the salt.

JoeyB (JoeB other places :) )
Yum yum yellow Cobra Explorer (soon)
Primarily LI; most familiar with the south shore/GSB/FI Inlet areas but learning a bit about other regions is near the top of my "to-do" list for this season.

Plan on doing mucho traveling to fish with fellow yak fishermen....

PS. mrsinbad-guess who has some weakifish spots that are producing already this season? ;) Just not for me (yet).

Andrew, Stamford, CT, mostly a Cape Cod surfman because CT access can be so limited (yes i drive up and back in one day just to drive out onto the beaches and fish), hence my desire to get local water access with a yak - hoping to find someone in southern CT / Wetchester County (grew up in Rye Brook) with a spare boat in need of a fishing buddy - I know a lot to ask for, so I'll put it on my wish list right below my 50" striper!
Do most of my fishing in Westport/Fairfield area. Mostly flyrod except on the windiest days. Closing on house in Fairfield at the end of the month and I'll be buying a kayak right after I buy a lawnmower. From all the recommendations, I'm leaning towards the Fish n' Dive or the Ride. Can't wait to get out there.
I'm Chris G., from Staten Island, and I fish mostly Sandy Hook and around S.I. on my Pungo.

Hey Chris

It was great fishing with you, you have my number please call me with any questions you have. Next to fishing, talking fishing is my favorite thing to do :)
Bob from Guilford,CT currently paddling a 138 old town. I drag tube and worm, flyfish and baitcast, mostly in the eastern section of LI sound.
Jeff from NYC..I fish the Peconic and am looking to branch out to the south shore this summer. That's me in a green Pungo with a Fenwick stick and a 6500C3 baitcaster. This is my third year Yak fishing and the best teacher is the experience of doing it. I troll artificial rigs I make myself and will cast as well. Have had luck with Stripers, blues, fluke, weaks and Porgies..Good luck to all, rembember to return short fish....LATER
Hey Magilla, great pic! You're an inspiration for guys like me eager to do this kayak fishing but need to get over the fear factor.
Rosco / Far Rockaway

Have a Cobra tandem arriving this coming Monday (I wish this site would have come online just a week earlier and I would have bought mine from Joey & Jon). I mainly fish Jamaica bay(surf) and that's where I intend to yak away from now on. I desperately wanted to get a single(fnd/explorer) but my obligations as a fisherperson in the context of friends & community prompted me to get something that I could share the experience & joy with at least one another person. Anyway, glad to meet you all!
TOG MAN, ITS GREAT. IM 6 FOOT 300LBS AND SPASTIC, I COULDNT FLIP THAT BOAT IF I TRIED. TIGHT LINES
