Has anyone been back there in the last wek or so? Was thinking of trying it this Thursday ofr Friday morning.

Is it more suitable to ice fishing then wading? I know my normal spots on the Nessy are frozen over.

Was kinda hoping someone had actually seen it within the last couple of days. Thought the waterfall may have prevented it from freezing over.

Dead Trout ?

Took a ride by Nissequogue ( upper ) to see if it was iced over, it is not. Completely open up around the bridge, so I assume Whites Pool is open as well, but as I was walking around I looked down and saw a pile of between 25 and 30 dead brookies ! Looked like they were dumped right at the edge of the water. All small, about the same size ( no more than 6 to 8 inches )but
kind of disturbing to see them all dead there. Has me concerned.

Just returned from my outting. Went well - check posted reports section for theoutcome.

I can personally report that there is little or no ice to speak of in "the Pool". Water's **** cold - but no ice.

Where were the dead brookies? By the small bridge on Landing Avenue? Shame. Did they appear "freshly killed" or did it look like they've been there for awhile?

Wonder what caused the kill - human or nature?

Sorry for late re-post

Trout were to 18". Perch were yellow and small 4-8". Taking worms I picked up at the tackle shop by Lake Ronkonkoma. Hook The worms in the middle on small hooks. Don't use any weight. Just cast upstream and let them drift down.

Dead Trout ?

The trout were on the east bank about 100 yards south of Rt 25. They were not decomposed so had not been there too long, and were sort of in a pile so they had not been spread around so I think they were fairly recently dumped. It is just past the parking lot, where you would usually step down into the stream if you were going to wade up to the pool, but below that little rift.
