does size a white nylon thread go clear with no cp on it ?

Not very well - white Nylon looks cloudy and blotchy when used like this. If you are looking to do that, and want a truly transparant wrap - I would look at using Size 00 Silk thread. I've done it with Size A Silk, and the effect is so-so, better than Nylon but not really wha tI wanted.

Just built a steelhead rod and i had the bright idea of using regular white on the furrele thinking it would go clear...it didn't...the result looks like crappy scotch tape

There it is!!! Cloudy, and blotchy, not lol. Teh results with the A Silk are better than that, but still not what I wa after, adn if RW had tried it, not what he was after. THE 00 silk is pretty much the only option if you are trying to do what we tried.

PS - When I did my failed test, it was on a blankBatson sent me to test...a 3-piece which I wrapped the ferrules. Dummies think alike, lol.

I have successfully used this producT. Stitch thru Invisible Thread.
