Hey Everyone,

I was wonsdering if anyone knew any boat yards that store boats for the winter in the Manhasset Bay/Port Washington area. I know there are plenty of yards but was curious if anyone had any insight on to how much they would charge for the winter season (November-May). I have a 21 foot Seaswirl Striper and no trailer. Thanks for your help.

storage

Be prepared to spend some bucks. It is not the storage fees that are a killer. It is all the other charges. You will need the boat to be winterized, shrink wrapped and in the spring, tune-up and drive serviced and bottom painted. Oh and don?t forget any other charges for finding something wrong. Then the hauling fee fall and spring. Total bill will likely range from 2500 to 4000 depending on what is needed. Never mind doing anything yourself as most yards will not allow it.

Suggestions:
If money is not an object, then don?t worry. Most boaters that have big boats i.e. boats over 30 foot will usually store at a yard because, well the boats just too big for their own backyard. If money is tight, I would suggest investing in a trailer and bring it home to do the work yourself. Any work they do in the yard can be done at home and most mechanics that will visit your home will be more reasonable in their prices. You can buy a new trailer for what you will spend in only one season.
