The kid they got must be some helluva hitter to say the Sox made out in that deal. Yeah, I hear ya about the age but look what many does in big games, at big times, against just about every pitcher. He is a 1st ballot Hall of Famer for sure. This kid has a LONG way to go before we can say that it was a "good" trade for the Sox. No way are the Sox a better team today than they were yesterday.
As a Yankee fan I am happy to see him go. I think I saw somewhere today that Manny hits .450 against the Yankees! Adios my friend!!! I was never a Manny fan (not only because I hate the Sox) but because he is the antithesis of what I would want my kid to emulate as far as a ballplayer goes. Between the nest of hair on his head, the gigantic uniform and the terrible manner in which he gets down the first base line when he grounds out. NONE of that is good for the image of the game, the league and especially the kids that look up to professional athletes.
It seems like he wore out his welcome with the Sox. I think the incident earlier this year with Kevin Youkilis might have been the beginning of the end for Manny.
With that said, who is gonna beat the Angels from the American League this year? They look pretty impressive.
