Just out of curiosity, I just want to know- I've seen a few people fish with a small spring, like you would see inside of a push-pen. What is the point of this? I've seen it used mostly on swim shads and banjo minnows. Does it give off vibration and noise? Does it hold the fish on the hook long enough to set the hook? None of the above?;) Also, what technique would I use it with? Can it catch more fish?

Thanx,

I honestly dont know. I've seen a similar situation with a spring-like piece of wire inside certain FW bass plastic lures, but not in SW.

Also, I think some guys use a sort of spring when carp and catfishing - to better hold a doughball-type of bait on the hook.
