Well, with September already half over and the fishing season on its final leg, the questions that begs to be is asked is what is in your freezer. For me, it is well stocked with plenty of bass steaks, and porgy filets. What about you?
I like this topic. My Freezer- Striper fillets, some bluefish that my mother loves for some reason, 2 nice Brown trout fillets and some Lakers, but the stuff I?m trying to make last is the Mako steaks. I don?t know if im going to have enough until I hook into one next year.
Soon to be added are some Salmon fillets from my upcoming Salmon River excursion.
But in my opinion, fishing season is never over. Blacks are coming up, then steelheads up state, and worst comes to worst ill break out the tip-ups and get on the ice. Fishing season is 365 days a year if you get creative and want to fish bad enough to deal with the weather.
I have about twelve pounds of venison stew meat, some veggie burgers and other nonsense that my fiance eats. I did no fishing this year so I need to stock up on fillets somehow in the next few weeks.
How big is your freezer? I would have left the neighbors at thier house.
Anyway, the freezer's got pork, beef, chicken, striped bass, mako shark, fluke, porgies and frozen water.
Got some cod, tile, wreckfish & hake fillets vacuum-sealed... hoping to add some tuna steaks and blackfish fillets before the season's over. Should have enough for the winter. I really hate to buy fish at the store!
Yellowfin and Bigeye tuna, mahi mahi, striped bass, cod, seabass, blackfish, smoked bluefish, squid, mackeral, herring, sardines, clams, and the best - just received several wild abalone steaks (my bud's brother came through in the clutch).
Running low and on the hunt list is Striped Bass, Sea Bass, and Blackfish.
Wish I could catch some trout, steelhead or salmon.
