Looking to take out a bunch of friends down to the point pleasant or belmar area, maybe Sandy Hook, to go fishing on March 7th. I usually don't go fishing during htis early in the Spring, so I don't know what type of fishing is best during this time of the year.

I would have to advise you to go ling fishing.Thats a tough time of the year but ling is the thing then.

I am going out on March 9th on the normak out of pt pleasant for ling, cod, and pollack. I just went out last week and we got some cod and ling and guys around us were pulling up pollock, so I am thinking they will still be around in a few weeks.

Ling is for sure and cod will be there with a possibility of some black fish. I fish out of NY Bight but always cruise that NJ shore line.

I haven't heard much about the blackfish biting all too good, but recently, the cod and ling boats have been having some good catches.

I too hope to get on the water soon.

Hmmm, seabass or blackfish would be good. Someone mentioned seabass. They're really around that time of year? Which boats?

Also for the cod and ling, how heavy should my fishing gear be?

so nothing but cod and ling? if so, what are the best boats in jersey, around point pleasant or atlantic highlands.

Seabass in March ?? I think that only 1 or 2 boats due that and you pretty much need to sail **** near the Sargasso Sea to get them in like a thousand feet of H2O.. Sewer Trout and Cod are the best bet.
