Since my other post about the Fin-nor rods I have been thinking. I could use the unibutts off those rods and build a set of stand up rods to hold 6/0 Penns that I have then eventually some 30tw's. This would increase my spread to eight rods. If I could do it relatively economical I could avoid cutting up the Fin-nors.

So my question is what would be a good blank and guide set to use with the Aftco Unibut to get the most bang for the buck?

Thanks guys.

Hi,

You can save the major cost of the Unibut by installing the blank thru a Stuart Slick butt with an aluminum gimbal. You can also use an aluminum reel seat. These components work, especially well for lighter weight rods. I also like the HNSG guides for some one that does not take good care of their roller guides.
