I HAD A BRAND NEW AQUASPORT AND IT WAS
A GOOD LITTLE BOAT, IT WAS LIGHT IN THE BOW AND POUNDED HARD,BUT WAS GOOD ON FUEL AND WAS WELL RIGGED FROM THE FACTORY.ON THE OTHER HAND I WOULD CHECK AT LOCAL YACHT BROKERS IN YOUR AREA BEFORE I TIED MY SELF TO A 43K DOLLAR
DEAL. IF YOU CAN FIND ONE I WOULD HAVE TO RECOMMEND A MAKO OR WHALER,THERE MUCH BETTER BUILT AND HAVE BETTER RESALE

Aquasport

I have a 2002 Aquasport Osprey 225 and have been very happy with it. The boat peforms great, especially in rough water. It handles a little tight with a full tank of gas but with the added weight that is expected.

Power is more than adequate and there is plenty of fishability with the boat. The 25 Aquasport you are looking at looks priced about right. If you want to do a price check on the boat go to Aquasport.com and they allow you the ability to price the boat you are listing with whatever amenities it is equipped with.

Good Luck

jb, I own a '99 21.5 Explorer walkaround with 200hp. It's a solid boat and better built than a lot other brands. Takes the chop pretty well especially with a full fuel load and it is very easy to maintain. There have been a couple of small hardware problems but nothing that has kept me off the water.
The guy in the slip next to me last year had a 25" with a 225 single. He liked his boat but thought it was a bit light in the stern. He was a boat rigger by trade. He said the boat was originally designed to run twins, so he thought the boat was a little wet in heavy weather. And in fact, you could see it was lower in the water in the bow. Hey, it?s a great boat with a great layout. I wished I could have afforded it when I got mine.
You can find out what it?s worth at www.nada.com. My experience is that Aquasports tend to hold their value.

25' Aquasport

I've had an 1988 25' Aquasport Sportfisherman for a number of years now. Power is supplied by 200 hp on an extended transon bracket. The boat is a good boat but tends to cavitate on any small following sea. For that reason, I cannot trim the engine up for plane and economy. I know that if it was bracketed directly to the transom that it would probably handle better. It bangs hard in a good 3-4 foot chop when you need to power down. I have trim tabs but they only help a little in a following sea. Otherwise, I love the speed and walkaround capabilities. Particularly when fishing alone.

A few small other things I wish I could change is 1) the canvas top. Wish I had a hardtop and 2) the scuppers are right at the waterline so that I need to keep the plugs in all day. It doesn't self bail. Only when I take the plugs and run.

A good family boat with the cuddy and porta potty. Just enough room for 4 people (a little tight by the capts chair) to fish comfortably. Or if you need to put a little down in the cabin to sleep.

hope it helps.

Nada Guides

I use to sell Seaswirll and the Aquasport is a heavier boat but the SS might have a little morwe options.

Compile a list of both boats with all the options on them and go to NADA guides .com and price out the 2 boats and see who has a better reasle value. It also depends what engine is on the boat.

Take advice from Aquasport owners as they will be the best judge of the boat. And do a seatrial on the boat in rough conditions if you can.

25 AquaSport

I have a 2000 model year 25 Osprey (center console), with a 250 yami. The boat is great in the bay. I would strongly recommend a sea trial in rough water, you be the judge. Negatives...I find in calm water the boat porpoises, and you have to use the tabs to control it. The rear fish box fills with rain water and the last 4 inches of water cant be pumped out because of the height of the pick up, gets ugly in there. This boat in my opinion is only for use in 2-3 foot seas. After that --it gets interesting. Oh yeah, they are wet boats, in any wind the spray comes over the sides. Positives...there is lots of ****pit room for fishing. Ample storage and decent fuel capacity. The boat cruises at 33mph and at full throttle 45mph will a full tank of gas. The factory wiring in the boat is impressive, well routed and secured.
Good luck
