I'm not sure what your asking. Whenever there is a good wind there are various wave periods, one for the groundswell and anther for the wind generated waves (chop) what are you getting at?

I am under the impression that the longer the period between waves or the Dominant Wave Period (DPD) as shown on weather.com --> Long Island/ Islip (BUOY ID#B44025)would corelate into more of a roll than a chop.

As those who have seen my previous posts know, I am new to off shore so I really don't know for sure what I am talking about.

Long and short, I am trying to make an informed decision on going out tomorrow (Linda). Preferring not to take a beating as I have had to much fun so far to ruin it.
