This is possibly the coldest winter I can remember since I was a kid.Is there any station that gives water Temps. for Long Island sound? Also any "experts" care to venture a prognostication as to what kind of fishing this spring will bring, with these colder water temperatures.

Historically the colder the winter the more abundant the sand eels are in the spring. Last year was a very mild winter and we didn't see a lot of sand eels and I personally had a poor spring fishing for bass. Two years ago we had a some what cold winter, but not like this and we saw a pretty decent amount of sand eels and I did very well on bass. I'd like to think we are in for one of the best springs we've seen in a while but you never know. You can find water temperatures on this website underconditions or you can check the NOAA bouy temperatures.
