I'm going to buy either a Shimano 20000 or the Daiwa Saltiga 6500 Expedition. I already have Stellas and they have been great for me. I also know that Shimano is very quick with turnaround on their maint. I have sent them back and in a couple weeks they have returned. They replace worn parts ie bearings, anti reverses, etc and have been totally cleaned and regreased. They have also been reasonable with the price for the service.

My question is what is the service like if I need to send back the 6500 Saltiga? Are they quick on return, is the price reasonable. Is it even possible with the Japanese versions? Has anyone here used them for this? Thanks Alot

Monocom broke his Satiga 4000 while fighting AJ in NC and the reel returned in perfect condition within a week after he sent the reel to Daiwa. He was very pleased with Daiwa's service.
You might have some problems to get your Japanese models of Saltiga serviced in the US unless Daiwa USA takes care of them just for courtesy.
