The open boat trip got blown out for this week:(
I'm booked on a charter on AC early this week if it dosen't get blown out & at this point it dosen't look good

I know that this is how it goes for trying to get out in the winter and better to be safe than sorry. No fun to freeze and get beat up. Not easy ground fishing on rough seas, never mind freezing spray.
I can't make it for this coming weekend's trip

How long can we expect this hot bite to continue, into Feb:confused:
What do you guys think?
Thanks.

I love this boat

I did a charter on the 11th and wish I could go this weekend.

20 oz sinker with 2 unbaited hooks with tube teasers did the job. I switched between that and a jig/teaser combo.

That was a nice double in the video but those were not 20 lbers. 12 maybe. I weighed my biggest fish and it was 20 on the nose. I am holding the fish tight to my body in the picture and I am 5'8".

An unexpected bump in the road has Capt Jim headed south. From now all future trips will leave 3 AM. Next trip is I believe next weekend. Please call the office

Now for the report, Capt Jim headed southeast of the cape and found the codfish. Fish were reported to be in the 40s. Cod Pollack, and haddock all the missing ground fish were found. Even the mysterious halibut to boot.

Does anyone know if we are on for this Sat trip? we have a long drive & we're planning on leaving from work this Friday morning. I tried the captain's number several times last evening (Thurs) and couldn't get him. At this point the offshore marine forecast looks good for Sat but Sat night starts to get crazy & Sun is 14 -23' for George's Bank.
If anyone knows if we're going or not please post or please ask Captain to call us & let us know.
Thanks!

Unfortunately I will be the bringer of bad news as I type this report. I am sitting here with Capt Jim Walsh steaming back. The fishing was poor. We went all over to find the body of fish but they were not there. It is as if they were all sucked up and gone. We caught a few pollack, cod, and redfish but it should have been much better.

Now the bad news. Capt Jim and the american classic will be retiring from ground fishing the North Atlantic. Next trip will most likely be his last. The trip will be leaving Saturday 23rd of feb. 9 pm. Please call the office for details.

Capt Jim Walsh is redirecting his energy to his new business, the aquasino. A 225 foot casino boat will be appearing spring 2013. Capt Jim thanks all his customers from over the years who have contributed to the wonderful memories. He hopes too see you one day aboard his new vessel and business. Please do not come in grunden attire. ;)

I like to also thank capt Jim for all the wonderful days at sea and all the fish I have caught on his boat. I wish him well on his new enterprise.

Please welcome the Aquasino
