ok, after 12 years of great service I'm retiring my red Ball Waders and ready for a new pair. I do most of my surf fishing from sept to early December, mostly south shore beaches. Also do some spring surf, but not as much as in the fall. Looking for input on walking comfort and warmth. I'm looking for some input since things have changed a bit over the last decade. Did some research - choices seem to be neoprene, cabela's light weight, sock foot vs. boot foot. Cabelas also has a boot foot with a lace-up boot attached. Are the sock-foots uncomfortable if sand or peebles get in. Does the sock (neoprene) tear if peebles get in. Are the light weight Cabelas more comfortable but not warm enough? Intersted in all input. THANKS.

For the money the Cabellas felt sole uninsulated waders for $50 are the best waders I have ever owned. The red balls usually last me 2 months,as does any wader. The CAbellas mentioned above lasted me for over2 years. Quite unbelievable- I think. The only thing I dont like about them is that you get wet from sweat during those long walks, and they lack ankle support, but I highly recommend them. I also use them for all my customers.
