In the midst of the mid morning squalls, Rob Solberg jigged up a monster from the deep- a Monkfish weighing in at 59.3lbs. Needless to say the entire boat stopped fishing to check out this sea monster. Rob is currently taking this fish to go for an IGFA record and we will keep you posted."

What a catch. I'd have a **** of a time getting the wife to display the mount in the house. Might be better on the lawn as a burglar deterent. Congrats to the fisherman!

Found this fella in the stomach of the monkfish on the right side of the fillet table

Don't think that they would cut it open

as they would need to get it weighed on certified scales in order to submit it as an IGFA record.

I was on board when this fish was caught- those pictures don't even do it justice!!! It took up every square inch of the tote it got iced down in- a real beast
