Anyone know a repair shop either on Long Island or in the ares thaat can do radio repair. I have an Icom M59 the I want to install a scrambler and have check if it is working corectly. Any replies will be appreiciated
Coffecup,
I use seatronics on Montauk Highway in Hampton bays. But most of those types of shops don't work cheap When it comes to VHFs, if I can't fix it myself, I usually just spring for a new unit.
last year my vhf broke and west marine was able to give me a # for a shop in babylon. However it was not worth fixing which seems to be the case most of the time according to the guy in the shop.
I just need to install a scrambler. T he radio does work fine. I should have bought it with the scrambler already installed and it would have saved me time
thank you
Frank
