Is there a certain channel that you are supposed to leave your radio on?I never hear any chatter when we are offshore.

Accoarding to the regs, any time your radio is on, and you are not communicating on another channel, you are supposed to monitor 16. With dual watch or tri watch, you can monitor 16 and for example 68 as well.

Alot of guys (including me) monitor 68 offshore.
