That depends

For survival a kastmaster, and for bass a 3.5 ounce white with red eyes gibbs pencil popper.

The Kastmaster because its a Kastmaster

The Pencil popper because I like my arms tired all the time.

Metal lures are great - capable of any depth, any speed, and they cast great.. I've caught lots of small fish on them, but nothing big & since that's allready been metioned - my next choice would be throwing live eels - and if that's not acceptable, a rubber eel setup.

Best lure from shore. Wow, that's a tough one. The striper shore ranges from New Foundland, Canada down to Georgia.

What is the shore like? What time of year is it? What bait is around? Time of day or night? Tide stage? What is the structure(s) you are focusing on?

Plenty of variables. Each combination has a golden lure if the fish are there. There are too many variables.

the best surf lure in my opinion would have to be a cotten cordell pencil popper. great for stripers, weaks, and blue fish.
