Ah the freshwater bonefish.

Brown trout called it grab yourself some wonderbread and head out there. I have also seen guys use velvetta(sp) cheese cube it up slap it on the hook and it actually holds together fairly well. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

If you want to get the fish in tight to you quick, take a hanful of kernel corn (from a can) and throw it out in front of where you want to fish. Obviously spread it around, but they'll come runnin! Throw a baited hook (completely covered) in your "chum line" and hold on! Make sure to keep the bail open if you go the stick-rod-holder route. Good luck

Big minnows...

There are some monsters in twin lakes.Look for areas where the sunfish are setting up spawning beds tight to each other. They love too feed on there eggs.
Chumming them up with corn is also a good method. Carp learn quick when they are caught by a paticular bait. There are other means of chum or better known as pre-baiting an area. These baits are called particle baits. Cereal, maze ( live stock corn ), dog biscuits, peanuts, and alot of different types of seeds can all be used to pre-bait an area. The maze, peanuts, and seeds must first be boiled for several hours before being thrown into the lake. This way the carp can digest them and it does not kill them!

As far as baits go, some home made dough with some vaniila extract added is hard to beat. Place a small ball on an even smaller treble hook, with the slip sinker described earlier and your in buisness.

Do some scouting early in the morning with a good pair of polarized sunglasses and you will see the areas that the carp like to frequent and set up shop there.
Don't limit yourself to Twin lakes. All the lakes around that area hold some jumbo carp, and some of the tidal areas too.
I hope this helps you out and maybe i will see you on the water.....;)

Berkley has introduced some strawberry flavored PowerBait chunks that are made just for carp. Im not sure how it works, but if its anything like the rest of their products, then it's sure to be a winner. Also, there are European baits called boils, which are essentialy just a doughball, but is made to stay together longer. I will get a recipe to you if you'd like. :)
