Has anyone enrolled for the TWIC card yet? Any place on the island to get it or is Staten Island the closest? Rediculous that we even have to get it...

There was a post in the general section that had a link to the website where they listed all the places. I don't recall where in NY you could get it, but there were a bunch of places.

An enrollment center will be opening in Coram, NY between April and June '08.

Last month I talked to a owner of one of the Captain's Schools. He said, " It does not apply to six pack licences. Only to licences for merchant ships." I don't know about that. I'll see him this Thursday night at a fishing club meeting and ask him again.

Went last week- Battery Park- NY/N J ferry terminal room 210- $ 132.00- they print you, photo and call you in 6-8 weeks to PICK UP your card- There is a pre-enrolment you can do online and set up an appointment- takes about 20 minutes- here is the link to pre enroll-

I got that direct from CG NY

The process was simple pre enroll at the TWIC web site

Go to second floor of the battery park terminal Pay 132.50
do a little paper work get photoed and printed

return in 6 to 8 weeks for card

the whole thing took 10 minutes
