I know the fishing is just starting up but is anyone going up for opening day of turkey season? I'm going up to Salamanca for 5 days to hunt with a buddy that lives up there. He's been scouting and said there are alot of birds that survived the harsh winter up there(up by the great lakes) and that the gobblers already started to move back into the woods. Should be a great season. Good luck.

We have a loads of turkeys around the office complex here, but I think they would get upset if I can in to work with my shotgun!

Too bad you can't hunt them on the east end. The area is loaded with them.

Crabman I heard from two different sources that there are rumblings of maybe opening the season out east. This is just second hand info. MakoMike he was talking about the east end of LI there is no turkey hunting.

Shouldn't be a problem you should be wearing a mask as camo anyway.
Just get one of those hats with the drop down camo mask/netting.

LOL! Up it sure is. They line up at the back door of my home for breakfast every morning! My wife hand feed some of the braver ones. You can "squawk" box all day but Turkey mash will get then "in" every time!

lol the hunting part is not really the problem. once 12 noon comes i have a hard time sitting on the porch with a few cold ones because of those %$&@ flys.
