pkk has been guarding the boarder with iran and have confenscated many weaposons coming into iraq to be use againg us forces.. iran not happy.

Yeah, but I think you got the wrong Kurdish group there. Its been the local Kurdiah Government that has been guarding the border and stopping the weapons. The PKK has nothing to do with the Kurdish Government.

Also as I recall from at least a few months back...

When the Brits began drawing down around Basra - they were redeploying along the Iranian border & being moved into Afganistan as well.

That was a while ago & may have changed but I do recall this is what they were doing.
It was around the same time we began to build up the naval forces in the Gulf.
