I was told the other day that the seiners applied for a permit to tag fish, as lobbied for by Eastcoast Tuna Assn.. This was supposed to be for one boat. Seems there are five boats that have been okayed to start fishing early under this petion. Only one is needed so the other four will just fish and fill their quota. This doesn't effect the quota of the general category but will certainly drive down early season prices. Now you'll get low prices all season.
