Mahi is right, Rigged ballyhoo will wash out quickly, although you can make them last a little longer by thawing them properly and keeping them cool by laying a towel over ice in a chest then laying the rigged or unrigged bait over it rather than laying the bait unprotected on the ice. This will keep them cool and pliable while thawing and not soaked with the warming ice. Don't forget cedar plugs trolled in the wash off the trasom. I've seen B.F.T. hit em within 10 feet of the stern.
