tuna

I only fished partyboat tuna once, last September. My wife,Elsie and I fished on the Atlantis Princess out of Staten Island. It was a 24 hr trip to the canyon.I brought along my own rods that I pre-rigged at home.Well, they re-rigged them the way they do.Unfortunately, the only fish caught that trip was a 30" mahi-mahi.One thing that I do remember, was that we were using about a pound and a half of lead to keep the baits down.
Even though we got skunked that trip,we are planning to go again soon, possibly in a week or so.
Lots of luck to you.

Explorer

Just out of curiosity, why and how did you chose the Explorer?I just saw their ad in this weeks Fisherman, mentioning the tuna trips.I tried the website ,but it gave no info.I will phone them later today for info.****,Sheepshead Bay is a lot closer to me in Queens than Staten Island.
When you go,make sure that there are no bananas on board,a sure bad luck omen for fishing.
Good luck,
Pete
