I'd like to know if there are any productive areas for smaller tuna 25-50lb range fish within 25 miles of Point Judith, RI. If so could you please give me a gps reference point?

I typically fish BI's SW corner for bass, and blues, but I'd like to give a small tuna a try.

It doesnt happen every year but in August to early September I've seen school bluefins within sight of Southeast light.
They are also caught down on sharks ledge, The mudhole, Gully, 24 fathom bank out to Coxes. Get a capt Seaguls fishing chart & plot the #'s out for yourself. Be careful & good luck.

How small is your boat? Some East coast advice - Forget Montaulk. If you want to get into fish book a boat in Cape May around late Aug early Sept. I've fished both "Ends" and can tell you when I want size, quallity and variety I go to the other "end" Cape May. The run out is like crossing the steet compared to what we do. I take my boat down every year in late August and have had some remarkable catches. Last seasons BFT run down there was like fishing blues at 17 or the Mud. They raise alot of Blue and White Marlin with a good catch ratio. You may also get to observe the "Mid Atlantic $500,000" while your there. Alot of top Sports compete. Its all good! Its only three hours from Manhattan. You got to try it.
