I troll very often for bass and blues and always seem to have trouble marking my 60lb Monel stainless trolling wire at various depths. Does anyone know a better way than the phone wire way? It always slips on me. Maybe I am doing it wrong? Thanks for the help!

the phone wire way always worked fine for me it used to slip but then i found out i was doing it wrong. you have to make sure you "twist" the wire line around the phone wire so it dont slip. if you just wrap it around the wire line it will slip when it hits the guids. hard to explain i guess you have to see it....
