I am gettting married in Cacios this Jan. I was wondering if anyone has any Idea about bonefishing, which island is the best, or any areas on the island of Provo, how hard travel is?
Any adviced or experiance would be a huge help.
Thanks Warhawk.

Last time I was down there, which was about 10 years ago, there were plenty of bonefishing guides but they were expensive by Caribean standards at about $350-400 per day. The best fishing was on the other end of the island from Providenciales, and you really needed a jeep to get there.

I was there this past January and did a report earlier if you want to check it out. Fishing down there in general is extremely expensive, in fact the most expensive I have ever experienced. A half day of bonefifhing for example cost me $500 not including tip and it only resulted in a half dozen fish with nothing bigger than about 3 lbs. Offshore fishing is ridiculous and if you want to try that, it will cost you nearly $2,000 for a half day. You could try a light spinning rod and fish right off the beaches though and catch barracuda, jacks and maybe a few bonefish that way. I'm not sure if a license is needed but it would be a lot cheaper than hiring a boat.

If allowed just try to rent or borrow a kayak from the hotel or local area that you are in and paddle out to a reef near you and just drop any type of squid or conch left overs that you can get from either the locals or restaurants.
