Thinking of options on how to set up my 18' Maritime Skiff and came across this in a catalog.

http://www.boatus-store.com/icatalog/C577.asp

It's a molded single unit with a detachable 30 gal. round livewell. Leaning post includes 4 rod holders, a storage area and cutouts for a fire extinguisher. Anyone with experiences on this unit? Looks like a good value for a smaller boat with limited deck space.

TIA,
Pat

Does your leaning post flex when you lean against it while running the boat ?

I am considering buying one of these leaning posts, trying to make up my mind and still waiting for them to come instock.

Any thought or comments would be appreciated.

I had that exact leaning post livewell on an 18 foot boat. It was a great set up but the 30 gal of water really weighed down the boat, also there is no plug to let the water out, you have to tip it over it empty it if you don't rig it up to a pump. Otherwise a very stable unit.
