Mornin' folks. Yesterday I ran the boat up the East River to see the "Waterfalls". Since the city projects a 55 million dollar windfall from these installations, can I have my $20.00 in fuel money back? They look like a construction project that sprung some leaks. The one under the Brooklyn Bridge was kinda cool...kinda. To each his own I 'spose. I counted 4 law enforcement boats patrolling the area. 4 months of that is gonna take a chunk out of the 55 million.....minus my 20 bucks, of course.

Just a wonderfall way for the city to spend the taxpayers money. I wonder how much it costs to run those pumps all day long, I mean the city is footing the electric bill isn't it?

Guess the marine police unit now has something more to do now than just look for terrorists.

I can't help but shake my head in disbelief every time I see one of those atrocities.
This from the Mayor who raised the water rates by 15% this year. Lets not even talk about the dumb bikers lane on Broadway. How does this help the overcrowdedness of the streets he wants to make people pay for to drive in. How does having two lanes in the busiest part of town, the heart, I mean almost any up and down traffic gets bottled necked right there, help the cyclists? Are they supposed to ride up and down the few streets?
Another politician out of touch...
Sorry for the rant...

Private donations

Does not matter who pays for it,any use of energy (2 electric pumps on each one)helps to keep up the high demand for foreign oil.As long as that is the case oil prices will NEVER come down.
Any one remember when in the 1970s oil embargo then President Johnson asked the nation to avoid using any unnecessary lighting & power??I truly believe our present government is out to lunch and has no clue.

NYC water rates are for fresh water, nothing to do with the salt water pumps running full time to produce those waterfalls.
Hey, we are New Yorkers and the Mayor wants to flaunt the conspicuous consumption of the big apple. Remember, the Mayor has big personal pockets and thinks we ALL can afford to look cool..
Sorry Mayor, I'm not on your page.
