Ok here is a great topic. When fishing, have you gone to area or a spot and found the fish and did great only to come back the next day and find nothing?
Well I?m sure this is one that always has us thinking should we stay and wait or should we move on to another spot. Then you move and the next day your buddy comes in and tells you (why did you leave they started biting great) in the spot you left. Well this is my question now that I set the stage.
quote:
WHEN IS IT TIME TO STAY OR GO WHEN FISHING A SPOT OR AN AREA?

Now this is a question I cannot answer 100%. But there are certain times when you should know when to leave or stay. Certain elements can come into play wind , tide, current, bait so before you answer try and give a detailed description on what would make you stay or go?
HAVE FUN WITH THIS ONE SHOULD BE GOOD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

should i stay or should i go now ( song title )

It all depends on the type of fish i was fishing for if it was blues or stripers or a type of fish that will move and follow baitfish i might head for greener pastures. If it was flounder or fluke i might stay longer It also depends on the spot fishing is it a channel, stucture, or a mud flat there are alot of variables to fishing. tides and moon phases. please see my post ( best fihing times please help.) always good fishing, Dave

It's a time and strategy thing.

(Short Answer - I stick it out, at least an hour after previous days succes time.)Long Answer-I'm a surf rat. As in most fishing scenarios it depends. When Bass fishing on the South Shore and tight on time I pick a tide and a spot or area and stick to it changing lures. If I am doing the bait and wait gig I stick it out and may move to a different wave break but not a different beach. If I'm doing the full surf trip and am catching a 12 hour tide cycle I'll move around and may even change beaches. JB6-Tobay-Gilgo-Demo. When going for Blues I move constantly and always carry binoculars. If I don't see em I will toss a few different lures at good water...no hits move on. Ditto with the bait and wait. I will stick around about an hour after yesterdays action and move on to next structure if dead.
