This is a Pro-Yankees thread for fans to post in during the upcoming season.
We can discuss all the wins and the occasional loses right here. :)

The Yankee have a good mix of experienced and up and coming young pitchers?and Mo is back?.

Now that Arod is settled in with his new contract he will be sufficiently grounded to deliver another stellar year
AND come through big in the post season?.

Abreu, Cano, Posada, Jeter will be solid?.

If Damon and Matsui can play as well as they are capable?.

Duncan and Cabrera will be improved?hopefully they?ll see more playing time...

Should be a great year for the Yankees as they ascend to their traditional and rightful place at the top of the baseball world - World Series Champs.

What a great way for the Yankees to finish out their last year in the old Stadium !!

I'm ready!

Hoping they get off to a better start than last years! They dug a hole early and there were a few times I didn't think they would get untracked.Finished strong but ran out of gas at the end.
Giradi and the youngsters ( Joba/Cano etc) seem to have added a good energy into this veteran team.
I think A Rod will have his best year yet.He is peaking and in his prime years right now as far as playing baseball. He's settled in and I sense a new ease about him. This can only be a positive.

Question marks will be Moose,Igawa(sp?) and the young arms.Mussinas best days are behind him but he has some left and his work with the kids is priceless.
Igawa I feel is not going to work out.Hes getting shelled as I write this
Batting practice for the Devil Rays

There will be wins and losses...
ups and downs...
Hopefully Boston is there at the end for another round of fun.

Oh, puhhleazzze, now! The worst decision they made was to sign I-ROB to another contract. Should have let the door hit him where the good Lord split him. He'll have an off year cause he don't need to impress anyone with his "ME" play. At least he won't get abuse about squeezing his sphincter in teh playoffs again...they ain't making it that far.

When you wake up from your dream in early September, with the Yankers staring up from 3rd place, you will see how a team really "takes down the house" and closes it up! Bye, Bye , Shea! Hello WS!

PaddleOn, Last year they did have a horrible start.
No small reason was all the injuries that their pitching staff suffered.
If Kennedy and Hughes stay healthy and Pettitte and Wang have good years again
and Joba continues to impress, we will have plenty of great pitching.
And Mariano is still the best at what he does.

ARod proved that he is the top Offensive player in the game last year and I agree that if he is settled in,
and he?s got his mind in the right place, he will be a force to be reckoned with, again.

Burnedthumb, this thread is for the multitude of Pro-Yankee fans here at NE
but?? all baseball fans are welcome to stop by and comment.
Hockey fans who know how to read are welcome as well.

Trash talking from fans of rival teams is inevitable but try to keep the banter respectful and believable.
Speaking of waking up from dreams, I can?t think of a bigger nightmare then the one that Mets fans suffered through last September.
I hope that you can eventually recover from the trauma.

Not sure why signing the best player in baseball would ever be considered the Yankees worst descision. Can you explain your reasoning burnedthumb?

Off year for A Rod?
You met fans are a trip
Met fans have absolutely no reason to mouth off after that debacle last year

We'll keep this thread positive

Good natured ribbing is always fun...
rivalry is what makes sports interesting...
nasty negative posts are just signs of immaturity and low self esteem.

Glad we re-signed the best player in baseball and that he'll be here for the duration of his career.
We'll come back to this classic foot in the mouth post by burnedthumb in about 6 months

has anything to do with rooting for the Red Sox
to add to their paltry collection of rings.

Bronx?
Who's insulting the natives of the Bronx?

I was thinking more in terms of the "natives" of the stadium.
Let me know if there's anything else I need to explain for you.

"An A-Rod 'experience'? How about he hits a few balls through the infield in the postseason? That's the kind of A-Rod experience I'd like." -- Yankees minority owner Barry Halper

HEY!....he said it, not me. lol

No further explanation is necessary, thank you for that important distinction.

Nice concept Sinkerbouncer, but bad idea. There are too many Yankee enemies on this site. Especially the nauseating Boston fans. Oh, they have alot to say, they are winning lately, thats just grand, well, will it ever make up for their 86 years of NOTHING! They sucked for 86 years!!!!!! And yes, the Mets fans will spout their vomit as well. But I will say this for the Mets, at least they went out and did their best to obtain the best pitchers. They will go far for that reason. The Yanks, I love them, but they can't expect to go to the top with the pitching staff they are presenting.

Nauseating?

Hey, I'm just trying to fill the dead air until all you hard-core Yankees fans show up......which, if history is any indicator, will be late August.

Anybody else read the story in the Post about what a big-time liberal that Hank Steinbrenner is?

Although I like the way the team looks on paper, I don't have a good feeling about them this year. Maybe it's because of Girardi and Hank. I think that if they don't get off to a good start there is gonna be too much said about the team from the front office and, Girardi is not going to be able to insulate the team from the critisisim like Torre did. And veteran teams sometimes get off to slow starts.

Crabby, the Yanks had a terrible start last year but they still made the playoffs.
Hopefully, Hank has enough sense to realize that it?s to his own benefit to give his new manager enough space to get on track if they start off slow. Don?t forget, Girardi is almost as media savvy as Joe was.
If he doesn?t lay off, we?ll survive that too. Yanks have a proud tradition of turmoil coming down from the front office that pre-dates Joe Torre. ;)

LBRLSSCK, No big surprise that the Yankee haters will come out to spout their nonsense on a thread like this.
I would be disappointed if they didn?t.

We have a long season ahead and I?m hoping we can have some laughs, trade some barbs and still take the ?High Road? when we discuss the teams that we are passionate about.

Sure some people will talk out of their butts, but the many Yankee fans that I know here are classy guys and we have a lot to talk about.
