My Two Cents
When I was a kid, I worked summers on a charter out of Harwich, Mass. The skipper used Penn 4/0's filled with wire exclusively. They were and I assume still are, a strong reel that never failed us. Another boat I fished with, we used to have them falling apart on us as the clients were hooked up. (Maintenance issues.....)
Then I used the Diawa Sealine series for wire line jigging on a third boat and I now own several of them. In my humble opinion, they are a real workhorse in its' class. A commerical friend of mine swears by them for cod jigging
