I got a catalogue from J&B Tackle company up in Conneticut or MAss (I forget where they're located). It seems as if there are some good deals on Star rods. I remember Star was not producing rods for a while, but now more and moreseem to be entering the market. The prices are very competitive and as I recalled Star made a pertty good rod.

What are the oppinions of the experts. ?

Star Rods

GS,
I'm no expert, but I love my star rod.
I bought a 7' "nikelite" series
med-heavy for sea-bass last summer. It is extremely sensitive, light and has surprising backbone. I used it at 17 all of last season for tog. With that rod, matched with a Newell 229 and PP
line, I could detect every nibble
even on rough and windy days, and
never went beyond an 8oz. sinker.
I feel like this setup gave me an
advantage & my catches were improved
over my older favorite custom tog rods.
The rod handled tog up to 10lbs with no problem. The fight of the fish feels violent on this rod. It is a blast using it-Im hooked.

Have one

for weakfish. It's a very light rod..10-12lb test, baitcaster set up, short as well only 5'3". Some people think that is too short, but it has brought in some 8lb weaks. I enjoy fishing with it. You will not waste your money on these rods...alot of people I know have them and are happy with them.
