The second half of this weeks forecast smells of a fall mullet run to me. I know where I will be and what lures I will be using :) That is of course if the weatherman is accurate this week.

What do you guys think? Will it start with this weather or will it take more to trigger the mullet to really move hard?

I hope this does it. I've seen mullet stacked in a certain location for awhile now. Haven't checked in a few days to see if they're still there. From what I read and from talking to a couple of seasoned vets we need a good cold front to get the mullet moving. Seems the fear is the mullet will trickle out if we don't get a good cold front. I think it's too warm still.
However,I think it's now or never. I'll be out there to see what happens.

I am sitting here in the office DYING!!!!! Watching out the window with this nice cloud cover and NE breeze blowing. MAN!!!! If it starts raining I am OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!

On the boat in FI Sunday afternoon I was watching the mullet shower a few times so I'm thinking they are beginning to move. Let's root for some chilling rain with Thursdays forecast!!!!

They are definitely making a showing on the open beach. I've had some bass on the mullet as well. Blue SS Little Neck popper did the trick. Earlier today, I watched Dave(mako841) fill up a bucket of mullet with his castnet.

Was out sat in the back bays in NJ. Out front was to windy and harsh for me, lots of white water but the bait was scattered here and there, There were Mullett in the front but they were stacked in the back. Much more comfortable ( ah call me a &^%$*$#@!! meow

Lets just say it payed off :);)
Lot of guys are saying with a steady NE 20-25 it might kill the mullet run here in NJ. Im ready to head out front tonight and give it a try before what everyone is saying comes true

Thanks FishLicious. I will trade you one back. Of all the weather sites, I like Intellicast at the following:

Appreciate the returned favor. I'm a pilot by trade so I'm well versed in internet weather sources. I just get it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak...www.weather.gov

I was on the beaches of Bayhead/Pt Pleasant Saturday from 6AM to 1:30PM and I think the winds were more like 30-35..... waves were like 6-8 steady ..... water was dirty and full of debris ... almost unfishable ... almost ... but the bait .. if there were scattered ... did see a lot of dolphins off the beach about 100 yards chasing bait so there was some out there......

Should have fihed the back bays myself .....

Canyon, I was there late in the day, it wasnt that bad but then kicked up again. Yes, unfishable, water was kicked up waaaay to much. I woulda got my A kicked plus the jetties were getting soaked. Korkers or not it was dangerous. BTW, shark river last night ;) The bait seems to be in the back with some bass chasing them. Go with your plugs when the mullett are around ehhhhemmmm ;) Did pretty well last night with my buddy.
