Has or does anyone use this to ream their cork handles. A little pricey but if it works well and last longer than the razor wand then it might be worth the investment. Heard of other rod builders using a rat tail file on a drill in reverse.

Hi Ralph,

I finally remembered this tool, page 92 of the Batson Catalog. 4 wands and a handle, MSRP $79.76. A nice tool that I ordered for a customer in the past. I will ask him how it works the next time I see him.

Hi,

I make my own reamers using different size pieces of blanks. I use grit epoxied to the blank. They work great for cork but not for EVA material. The EVA grips I ream using step bits on a long shaft.

I believe the largest of the dream reamers o.d. is about 5/8 or 3/4. Thats bigger than any of the razor wands. Just ordered a set. I'll give it a try and let you know how it worked out.

Those reamers look nice but cost a lot. I only use cork on my rods and have made a couple of hundred. For those that are not doing it professionally they arent cost effective. Besides we are supposed to be innovators and creators. I have made my cork reamers out of broken rod, cut off tips, handles, and cheap blanks. I use different grips of sandpaper, usually 50-60 grit and use contact cement to the glue them to the pieces. Works fine and takes a long time to wear out.
