Ok, so Obama is the Democratic Nominee for President in 2008, Congratulations!!

So, let's hear a little bit on why HE should be our next president.

What makes him qualified?

What are his past accomplishments that make him ready to be the next president?

What would he actually do (specific plans) to make things "better"?

What legislation has he enacted in the past?

What are his top accomplishments in the Senate and his time as an Illinois Legislator?

Now, I know your first instinct is to go into an "anybody but bush" tyrade or "McCain is just another Bush term" rant, but I'm not asking for a reason to pick one over another. ALL I am asking for is what makes Barack Obama, all by his lonesome, a man ready, willing and able to be our next president.

My reason for asking this is is rooted in the following videos:

Now, he's a politician, and an Obama supporter on a National Broadcast and he couldn't come up with anything. Can you??

Come-on gary...
I don't want a Bash Obama thread.....
I want to hear all of the people who support him to tell us what qualifies him. Give them a chance to see what they can come up with besides "He'll Change things".

4 more years of pandering to the rich and smile as they outsource the future.. no thanks..

Mcain up in Canada praising NAFTA..

all I needed to hear.

Worst approval rating in US history Bush II who needs Bush III, he's the lesser of the two evils. Unfortunately he's a black muslim and the american people are too stupid to elect him.

You asked.

IMHO neuther of these candidates have the executive expierence. Neither has run a state as a governer. Neither has even been a mayor.

McCain atleast has had more time in the senate, but, I still feel that neither has the executive experience to run the country.

With this said, I feel Sen. McCain, with more federal exp., would be the better choice for this country.

Actually Bob what I asked was what QUALIFIES OBAMA. What I also, specifically, asked people not to do was go into a anti-bush tirade.
Unfortunately, as predicted, some people just can't help themselves.

OK to clarify, the current administrations policies will remain unchallenged so you need to do something, especially of they still believe NAFTA is a great thing..
.. it is .. for them.. at a time when most are struggling, they keep making more and more on the backs of today's kindergartners with a balloning deficit after inhereting a surplus..

In other words, If you believe in the rich and the "trickle down" policy and they'll take good care of you stay with Bush III.

If you and your kids are done with getting urinated on, it's time for a change...

So yes it's the lesser of the two evils..

he was against the war about the only smart one..

Yes - & it was very easy for him to be so & even easier for him to say that now as he was not in the Senate yet when the vote came up.

He had nothing to lose by saying he was against it as he was not running for nor was he already an elected offical.

Had he been - very likely - given the national sentiment at that time - he very well may have gone along with all the others who authorized the action because at the time it seemed like the correct thing to do.

It's paying off handsomely now.

Wonder if he'd be so quick to bring that up now had WOMD been found & had things gone according to plan.

Why Obama Should Scare Us
Posted on May 20th, 2008 by Timothy P. Carney
on The American Conservative

quote:

No, not because he?s an ?appeaser,? and not because he?s a crypto-Rev. Wright-style racist?the standard Republican charges against Obama are silly. We should be afraid because he is just like most Democrats and some Republicans in that he believes the government should run our health care. Even if you don?t get really upset about government intervention in the economy, and I think a lot of conservatives here consider libertarianism a psychosis, we need to worry about socialist health care because it is the wedge for government control of our lives.

Drudge linked today to this story from Sarasota Co., Florida, where the county won?t hire smokers. As an employer bearing part of the cost of its employees? poor health, the county arguably has the right to discriminate thus (a private employer certainly has such a right). But your employer isn?t the only one who bears some of your medical costs. It was on the grounds of Medicare and Medicaid costs that the states sued the tobacco companies a decade ago.

Once taxpayers are bearing the burden of your health care, doesn?t the government have a right to keep you from smoking? What about eating donuts? What about having too many children? How about refusing to vaccinate your children? Or refusing to teach your 12-year-old daughter about the various methods of birth control? Government health care is a Trojan Horse into your home and your personal choices.

McCain, bad on so many issues regarding government and individual liberty, actually might be decent on health care. Conservatives need to come to grips with the fact that creeping socialism poses an inevitable threat to our ability to live our lives and raise our families as we wish.

This isn?t necessarily reason enough to vote for McCain, but at least a reason to be scared of Obama.

OK.... And what did he say in those books that would qualify him to be President?

He said he's for change. That's all I need! No plan, no commitment, nothing but change. The question is what change?

I think he wants to change to a socialist style of government.
