Went to Napeague yesterday. I had been out at the point but only had the last 3 hours of out going to work with. If i hooked up with one if the small blitzes I was seeing, I might start out in fishable waters, but I'd end up in the rips. So it was Napeague, bay side. Those rips were smaller. Didn't mark anything. Didn't catch anything. But I was visited by a small (100 lb?) sunfish. Later, last night/this morning, I fished Ponquogue bridge. It was windy and rough, but until the tide slowed the water was clean. When it's that rough, at least I know I'll have the bridge to myself - no boats or other kayaks. No fish either. I had one bass, only onei, rigjt before sunrise. It was a keeper, barely. Went to the Quogue ocean beach on my way home afterward to see if any of my buddies had luck in the surf. It was high tide, and there was no beach to drive on. Storm surge had the waves lapping at the dune fencing. If tou plan to get onto the beach, make sure you have room to turn around and get back off. <like href="http://www.noreast.com/postedreports/view.cfm?id=156562" send="false" show_faces="false" width='layout="button_count"'></like> Not what it seems...
