Hello, i went down to the great river in LI and found dozens of baby american eels, i brought 3 home because i have had one before and it did very well before my oscar ate him  there are adult american eels in my backyard stream where i plan on releasing them as they get older but i wanted to know if anyone knew what to feed them? they are about 3 inches long and developed their brownish color so they arent glass eels anymore.

As a rule of thumb, not a good practice to relocate any fish/animal from one habitat to another even if you're positive of its identity (an aquarium would be an exception). Juveniles of a species can be very deceiving at times.

Ask the Australians how much they like rabbits.

Guilty as charged.
I've been releasing bushels of blue claws in the back of the harbor every year since I was a kid.
