I recently read a favorable review of Temple Fork's saltwater rods. I've been fishing with a St. Croix 10 wt. While a good rod, I suspected it wasn't loading as well as it should. It felt like the load was all in the last 3 feet of the rod.

Tried the Temple Fork and it was a very different feel. Most of the rod was loading on easy casts, and it seemed there was reserve power in the last three feet if I really wanted to punch it.

Anyone else tried these rods? I'd be curious to hear how they compare against the Loomis or Sage rods. The store proprietor said they were the equal of high end sticks at a lower price.

I have the Temple Fork 10wt, matched w/ a TIOGA, i love the rod it casts great, when i first bought the rod last year not much was written on them, all i heard thru the grape vine then was it was designed by Lefty Krech, who now i find out left SAGE for TFO, my buddy uses strictly SAGE rods and i feel that my TFO i can cast further and the TFO 10 seems to be a lighter rod than his SAGE 9wt. the lightweight allows you to cast all day without tiring your arm out, downfalls: i feel they went GREAT QUALITY on the blank but went cheap on the chrome plated guides, the aluminum real seat, although the grips are nice but thats y it's $160... i say charge a lil more improve the real seat, and add titanium guides, i'd buy one in every weight class.....now i gotta play lotto

The TF rods cast real nice. For the money you can't go wrong. Just 1 thing make sure when you do purchase a TF rod look over it real good for defects. Some of the rods they sell do have them. Because they are made out of the country the workmanship kind of s##ks on some of the rods. Check out the cork grip and the guide wraps also where the rod connects for defects. So if you do find a defect e-mail TF and they will replace the rod free right away.
