I got a new tag stick for xmas, and I am not too sure where to get tags from. This will be mostly used for shark releases in NY. Also should have some billfish tags for canyon fishing. Any direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Tuna

For Tuna, mahi, a billfish and any other pelgic you release this tag is what should be used.

These tags are different than the ones Jessielee mentioned. Meaning that the dart end of the tag stick is different. These tags are plastic tip as apposed to the razor tip shark tags. The dart heads are available from Afco. Sea Isle Sporting Goods in Freeport has both heads. On my vessel we just carry two different sticks. Although the dart just screws out, in the heat of battle and in all fairness to a successful release in which speed is always a concern we keep both loaded.
