This trip is going to be alittle diffrent. Were going to be fishing the offshore wrecks for Snowey Grouper As well before heading in and fishing the Reds , Gags, Scamps, Snapper and Sea Bass. I'm not going to be fishing the same Wreck that everyone else has been fishing on out of Wilmington you've seen the PIC'S i'm sure. There's alot of life out there that hasn't been fished. I'll be out there all next week fishing and exploring the area so i'll be ready for this trip.. We have all kinds of options on this trip, bait, Jiggs you name it. The cost is $250pp and a 4angler max reservations and deposit are required..I have left July 6th open in case anyone would like to stay around and fish another day of Bottom Fishing or do some Flounder fishing on the inshore Reefs.Feel free to give me a call. Thanks Capt. Ken Mullen

Ken, Glad you became a Noreast sponsor.

There are so many different fishing opportunities in NC and amazing thing is they are not utilized fully yet and many areas still can be explored. I plan to bring my popping rods on next NC trips as I see more mahi mahi on recent trips and I heard there are lots of sailfish offshore in summer.
I met a guy at the dock with a commecial fluke gigging fishermen and he showed about 40 fluke. Gigging in shallow water is very popular there, but there are very few fluke fishermen with rods and reels.

I might try inshore fishing in NC next time.

Kil, as you know I love to fluke fish. They are very plentiful down here. I am booked solid until the 18,19 of june but have some open dates at the end of the month. Anytime you want to go when Im free let me know. The Sail Fishing is very good as well come July. I spend alot of time fishing them as well and would love to try popping for them. I need to learn a few new ways to fish them before heading to Costa Rica for the winter. Ken Mullen

Ken, I tested a new custom 8'6" popping rod yesterday and I could cast farther with it than with any other popping rods I've used.
I am going to use the rod for bluefin popping and I think the rod is good for sailfish too.

We should test some stuff out. I would really like to learn all I can about this style of fishing. I'm sure it will benifit me greatly in my business in NC as well as in Costa Rica. Im going to make a trip up north when the Bluefin show. See if Adam will free up the Regulator. Ken

Ken I'll join you when you return back north.

I plan to have a popping rod ready for the AJs when the heard follows a hooked one to the surface. We already hooked them on flyrods that way back in the day.
