I'm just getting back into boating after being away from it for a number of years. The last few times I owned boats, they were mored (or moared) sp?

Now I trailer my boat, I live in Sayville and spend alot of time at Smiths Point so I bought the permit there $20/yr. I'd like to launch a little closer also, i.e. Hecksher, do I need to buy a permit for every ramp? where do most of you guys launch? do you pay a daily fee or per anum? You would think it was done by county, instead of every municapality, $$ adds up!

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Get the Empire Pass for $59 a year. It will let you into all of the state parks, including Captree and Hecksher to use the ramps. With a few visits, its paid for.
