So did anyone get to the Suffern Show yesterday or today?

First one I've missed in 12 years.

Anything new and exciting for us this coming season?

best, Lep

Went today and was a little disappointed. It seemed like less manufactures were there. The ones that were there had less stuff then years past,I think at least.Shimanos booth seem like it was half the size as normal, they had less stuff then usual.Looked at the new lamiglas texalium line and they seem like a nice rod for blackfish and bass.

I went yesterday and bought the SSU1201MH from Bobs Tackle in Amity and he, Steve, is also going to build it.

The show seems like a big indoor market place. I met the guys from TackleDirect who I've been talking to for the last couple of years and now have a face to go with the names. Then I met the whole Lamiglas crew but most of all I spent almost 30 minutes one on one with Alberto Knie and it was a very interesting and rewarding experience. And if the Mrs. allows I'll be there tomorrow to take the seminar Alberto will be giving on casting and fishing.

If you get the chance look at the, not out yet, Lamiglas Dry Top. I almost feel like selling my Aquaskinz EVO, that I haven't wored yet.

There's lots to see.

The down side of show was that not even Shimano had the Sustain 8000FE that I wanted to feel. I ate two tasteless frankfurters and my rod won't be ready until maybe mid-May!

I went. Stopped by the Lami booth for a quick look at the Tri-Flex rods. That was a mistake. Went to the next aisle and bought one. Hard to camoflage a seven and a half foot rod as a tomato stake! Oh well, in her heart, she knew I wasn't going over there to bring back brochures.
Stopped at the Daiwa display, and got a good look at their electric reels. One of those sure would turn tile fishing into a leisurely activity.
All in all, a good show. I go most every year. All the usual suspects, less a few. Talked to the Capt. from the Sea otter. Didn't know they were moving the boat up to New London. What a gentleman. Great talking with him.
